BEFORE THE RACE

What do I need to receive my starting package?

Starting packages can be collected based on presenting a form of identification (identity card, drivers license, passport or any other document issued by an official authority). It is also necessary to confirm the at your own risk certificate, as well as an agreement to the race rules, signed by both competitors.

Does the starting package have to be picked up by both competitors?

The starting package can be picked up by one team member, but only based on required signed documents.

Do I have to do anything with my start number?

Yes, you must fill in your contact and health data on the back of the start number. It must be fastened to the bike handlebars.

When and where will the first informational briefing take place?

The first pre-start briefing will be held one day before the race on Tuesday 11th of September at Smíchov railway station simultaneously with the giving out of the starting packages. You can choose from 3 dates: 17:30 (CZ), 18:45 (ENG) and 20:00 (CZ).

Do I have to attend the initial briefing on Tuesday if I am traveling alone or will I be given the information before the start of the first stage?

At least one team member must attend the pre-race briefing on Tuesday 11.9.

Do I have to hand my bike over to you, when picking my starting package up?

Once you have a start number, attach it to the bike and take it to the wagons (if you are traveling by train). The train will be prepared at Smíchovské nádraží.

Is there any mandatory equipment I should have?

All participants must wear a helmet throughout the race and at least one of the competitors from the pair must have a charged mobile phone.

If me or my partner get sick, is there any possibility to transfer the registration to another person?

Yes, there is, but no later than 30.8.2018. Send us your request and your original order to info@masivmtbrace.cz. We will then delete your name from the starting list and send the registration code to the other racer. The transfer fee is 500 CZK.

THE BIKE

How should I mark my bike?

Your start number will be attached to the handlebars, and the chip will be attached to the fork.

Are the bikes insured?

Yes, the bicycle will be insured up to CZK 30,000 in case of damage during the transfer. Their guarding during their storage is ensured by a security agency.

Is bike service secured?

Basic tools for reparairing as well as service will be available at every stage. The most necessary equipment will also be at the feed stations. However, we strongly recommend you have the basic equipment for reparation. Local service will also be ready, in case a problem occurs, but you will be charged for the spare parts.

Will it be possible to wash my bike?

A bike wash area will be ready at the finish to clean your bike and prepare it for the next stage.

Where will our bikes be between stages?

You can park your bike in the depot after the end of a stage, and pass it on to the train afterwards, where it will be locked and transferred to the next stage.

THE RACE

How do we get to the start of each stage?

Every competitor will ride to the start. The maximum distance is within 3 km.

Will it be possible to leave my belongings somewhere?

Yes, there will be a safe deposit box at each stage.

If I want to take some things to the finish area, how do I mark them, will I get a bag?

Prepare things you will need immediately after the race, such as dry clothes, in the bag, received in the startup package. Place a sticker with your start number and place it in the van, parked next to the train. You will then pick it up at the start/finish, where your luggage will be prepared.

When do the starting positions open?

Starting positions open 30 minutes before the start of the race.

When do I have to be at the starting position at the latest?

Not later than 15 minutes before the start of the race.

How do I know where to start?

Starting positions are determined by starting numbers at the first stage. For the next stages, the positions are determined based on the current results after each stage (the teams are ranked 1st to 10th overall)

Is it possible to cross the finish line with moderate spacing or do we really have to come together?

At the end of each stage, you must cross the finish line with a maximum distance of 3 minutes from your partner.

If something happens on the trail, who should I contact?

A contact for the rescue service will be on the back of the start number. Also download the “Záchranka” app on your mobile. All the important contacts will be shared with you during the briefing session.

What should I do if I lose my start number?

Contact organizers. You will be given a new one.

Are there any feed zones during the race?

There will be 2 feed zones at each stage, depending on the length and type of the track.

What will be available at feed zones?

Fruit, water Bonaqua, ionic drinks, CocaCola, biscuits, salt, something salty, etc. will be ready for you. Basic repairing tools and medical kit will also be available.

Can I skip a stage?

Each pair must pass all 4 stages in a start-to-finish manner to successfully complete the race. If you skip a stage, you can continue the race, but no longer have a complete classification.

How will the race be measured?

The participants' time is measured individually by the chip device, which will be part of the starting package.

Where will the ongoing results be published after each stage?

We will keep up-to-date information on the website. The results can also be found on the train.

Will the winners of each stage be announced?

Yes, the winners of the individual stages will be announced according to their division into race categories. The winner will receive the Kalas Sportswear leadership jersey. The final ceremony will be held at the end of the fourth stage, where 3 places in each category will be awarded

What happens if we do not cross finish line in time?

In case you don’t complete a stage within the time limit, you will be eliminated from the classification of the overall race order. Always have the train departure times on your mind.

THE TRAIN

How are the seats divided in the train? Can I keep my belongings there?

Each team will have an assigned compartment or seat, marked with their name. You can leave your belonging on the train, at your own risk and responsibility.

What kind of services will be available on the train?

Small refreshments can be purchased. There will be an operator, who will also be responsible for cleaning. Massages will also be available on the train.

Is the train locked in the evening?

Yes, it will be locked. There will be special entrances that will serve at this time for entering and exiting the train. The entrance will be guarded by security. You can only enter with an identification bracelet.

Will toilets and showers be available on the train or at the train station?

Toilets will be available at the train and can be also used at the stations. Showers on the train are not available.

Is there Wi-Fi connection on the train?

Will there be electricity on the train?

You will be able to charge your devices while traveling by train. However we recommend taking a power bank.

ACCOMMODATION / EQUIPMENT

How does the sleeping compartment look like?

Your compartment will be ready for you to lie down directly after your arrival. You won’t need a sleeping bag or bedding.

How will food be provided?

Competitors with the accommodation package have breakfast at the accommodation (train or hotel). Dinner is always served on the train while moving to the next stage. All competitors will have a hot meal, served after each stage. Fruit and cold drinks will also be served. You can also use the feed zones during each stage.

There will be a briefing session for those accommodated on the train and you can find all the information at https://masivmtbrace.cz/. Quick briefing will be held 10 minutes before the start of each stage from the head of the Sports Director.

Will we receive photos from the tracks?

Yes, photographers will be on the track. Photos will be provided free of charge.

Where can we wash and dry our clothes?

We do not provide laundry within the race. Drying of your clothes will only be possible on the premises of the train or in the hotel (if that’s your accommodation option). We therefore recommend you have enough clothes, ideally a whole set for every stage

When will the train arrive at Prague after the last stage?

Does the project cooperate with a charity?

MASIV together with the ČEZ Foundation have decided to support the Leontinka Foundation project, which plans to purchase two tandem bicycles for blind and visually impaired people. They will be used by children and families who could not otherwise afford to buy such an expensive item.You can join by downloading the EPP – “Pomáhej pohybem” app. Within the application you collect points for doing any kind of sports activity. These points are then transferred to money by ČEZ Foundation and used for charity projects. Points collected on Masiv will support the Leontinka Foundation.Project will go live in the app (you can download it free of charge) on 10th September so that we could start to ride the points and collect it during the race.
